Good morning, class. Good morning, class. Class? Class!? SHUDD-UP!!!!! Thank you.

The Slaver Exile portal thing is listed as a bug.

So class lets go to the web:

http://www.guildwars.com/support/leg...sofconduct.php

19.You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Guild Wars. Bugs should be promptly reported via "Ask a Question" at http://support.guildwars.com.

If you broke rule 19 you should have some sort of action taken against you according to:

http://www.guildwars.com/support/leg...sofconduct.php

Now class, I have a surprise for you! I'm going to read you some poems out of this lovely book of poetry. The sun kisses the morning skies. The birds kiss the butterflies. The dew kisses the morning grass. Class? Class!? Cla-- WAKE UP!!!!!

Was this one?

Update - Monday, August 13, 2007

This was an undocumented update.
GuildWiki Notes

* This update disabled the reconnect feature in the game to prevent further exploitation of a trade bug that allowed players to duplicate items using reconnection.

Funny, I don't remember an official statement then either just some blather on Gaile's page that would be impossible to verify.

I asked Tullzinski where, if at all, the bug was listed prior to it being mentioned in the update notes of the update that fixed it. I asked him this because he claims that this bug was listed.

It wasn't listed as a bug prior the update because of it's nature. Portal jumping =/= Duncan bug, one was used to facilitate the other but portal jumping in and of itself does not "grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits" unless you consider 0.1% cartographer a benefit? I posted the dupe exploit update because it was handled the exact same way. There was no notification that it was a bug beforehand, it would have been incredibly stupid to do so, but the people who used it certainly knew what they were doing.

If it's not listed as bug it should not be treated as if it were. Portal jumping is a known, and accepted, bug/glitch and if he felt there was ground to consider it, in this case, as granting the user unnatural or unintended benefits he ought to discuss that view.

So, what would be those benefits in this case?

yall realize how silly this argument is right?

without killing the pre-bosses, you can only get to the door using portal jumping. therefore portal jumping is giving you an unintended benefit. therefore portal jumping is a bug. but portal jumping is accepted as acceptable common practice.

let's try another with a simpler idea:

without clicking fast, you can only use one tonic per zone. therefore clicking fast gives you an unintended benefit. therefore clicking fast is a bug. but clicking is accepted as acceptable common practice.

with all these people calling for bans and worrying about other players, it's making me rethink why i play this game. if the community is going to be this prick-ish...that doesn't bode well for gw's future.

if you want to get mad at someone, get mad at anet for allowing stupid shit to exist. if you didnt get to have fun with duncan (like i didn't) don't take your frustration out on the people who had time.

It is listed here:

http://www.guildwars.com/support/gam...es/default.php

So what if it is not BEFORE the 11 March update.

I agree with Reformed posts above.

Please provide the official statement from ANET that it is accepted.

Seriously, to all the people saying "it wasn't a bug" regarding Slaver's... just....really?

You honestly think it was intended to work like that, so you could run slavers in 4 minutes... genuinely? Because, if you do, well...there is no hope for you. Find a tall building and exploit the flying glitch in RL..

Portal jumping is other areas is no defense, because it's doesn't " grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits".

Don't get me wrong, I don't care either way about these people being banned, it's hardly going to screw up the economy at this point. But they can't justifiably argue that they didn't know it was wrong, because it blatantly was and to say otherwise makes them morally bankrupt retarded idiots. But, if you're one of them, don't worry... you are not alone. About 95% of the human race is right there with you...

Who says it takes 4min to run Duncan today? It's 5min!!!

BTW, the portal jumping works in MANY areas and not just restricted to portal. You can jump through walls too.

So, if you have HoS equip, Viper Defense equip, Recall equip, Ebon Escape, etc...you should be banned just for equipping that skill because that skill is buggy.

BAN HAMMER!!! *BAMM!

LOL!!!

Good that you admit that it wasn't listed anywhere. If an action is not listed as bug it can not be automatically considered to be obvious as bug. If it is not obviously a bug it is reasonable to expect some form of argumentation to establish why it is or why it is obvious in your opinion. Furthermore I asked what benefits you think can be obtained by it.

They were questions, intended to add to the discussion. I am curious why you're so agitated by them, do you not visit this forum to discuss issues about Guild Wars?

If a dungeon door is closed, and there is a mechanic to open it, it's pretty safe to conclude that anything which allows you to bypass the opening mechanic is a bug, don't you think? The application of the slightest bit of logic would make that apparent.

So, where exactly, apart from Slavers, does that provide a significant actual benefit to the person using it? That's where the problem is, the benefit you gain by exploiting it, not in jumping past a wall or a door.

The only WTF moment for me was the changing of the Boulder Elementals/Hulking Stone Elementals in HM and NM.

The official wikki has removed the note, but the elementals did NOT use hammers at all, which made Dwarven Battle stance kinda pointless on them.

Adding Crude Swing without any clarification of these guys now actually wield hammers is a dumb move, hell I've been farming them for granite stacks since Eotn came out, there has been zero change to the run.

If you expressly put it that way, no. Puzzles, dungeons and other in-game obstacles and challenges sometimes have alternative solutions beyond the immediatley obvious.

Shadowstepping through walls and closed doors should not happen (according to the wiki must be able to walk to), so that qualifies as a bug, all by itself.

I never stated it was listed anywhere else EVER.

The fact that you want to discuss something I never said has me agitated. On top of that I knew that this type of answer was coming and is downright silly. ANET listed it as a bug therefore it is a bug, game over. Talk to ANET about when a bug is not a bug. My opinion never came into it. Where is Carlos Mencia when I need him?

Let us revisit Reformed comments again:

It wasn't listed as a bug prior the update because of it's nature. Still waiting on this accepted portal jumping stuff...

Portal jumping is a known, and accepted

Accepted by whom???
